Senior Manager On-Ground Programme

Full-Time Noida, with significant time spent on field.

Position Summary:

    If are you ready to embark on a thrilling journey into the heart of ecological conservation, join us as our Senior Manager of the On-Ground Programme (OGP) and become an integral part of The Habitats Trust's mission to safeguard India's precious ecosystems. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in managing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating our OGP, contributing to our vision of securing and maintaining ecological functionality of the natural world for human wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embark on a mission to manage OGP and execute projects under the programme, where every action you take contributes to the conservation of India's rich biodiversity and its habitats.
  • Help shape the direction of our OGP, mapping priority areas and identifying key conservation challenges across the country.
  • Venture into the field to collect, manage, and analyse vital data, ensuring the security and integrity of our ecological data and interventions.
  • Oversee implementation and monitoring progress with scientific rigour and impact orientation.
  • Play a vital role in expanding our human resources by assisting with recruitment and hiring efforts for the OGP.
  • Serve as the report generator of our ongoing projects, providing regular updates and insights to Director – Operations and Lead – Conservation to keep our conservation efforts on track and impactful.
  • Carefully document conservation inputs by authoring output and outcome reports.
  • Help create budgets and monitor expenses of OGP.
  • Undertake cross-program interactions within THT and the broader organizational teams as and when needed.
  • Any other work assigned by the Lead – Conservation.

Essentials:

  • 12-15 years of hands-on experience in biodiversity conservation with research component, with at least one extensive project entirely managed by you.
  • Specialise in at least one broad taxon group, and possess great curiosity for the intricacies of ecological processes and conservation nuances.
  • Professional skills in project design, execution, and collaboration with an inclination to tackle any challenge that comes your way.
  • Quantitative skills to handle data and program evaluation including integrating interdisciplinary aspects in programs.
  • Communicate effectively to a diverse audience through both written and oral communication.
  • At least a Master's Degree in a relevant discipline (wildlife or conservation sciences), obtained from a recognised institution worthy of your scholarly ambitions.
