Consultant Computer Vision, Tech For Conservation

Full Time Remote
Duration: 4 months, with possibility of extension

Position Summary:

    Here is an opportunity for a computer vision professional with 3-4 years of experience who can help us establish a data analysis pipeline integrated with classification and segmentation models. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for developing technological solutions to accelerate wildlife research and conservation. Candidate must be an analytical thinker, self-motivated, a good team player, and collaborative. You will have an opportunity to interact with various on-ground conservation project teams and their image and video data.

Objectives of this role:

  • Design and develop advanced computer vision algorithms for object detection, recognition and tracking
  • Implement and optimise algorithms for real-time processing and performance efficiency.
  • Test and refine models and systems based on real-world data and feedback
  • Collaborate internally and with on-ground partners to discuss and standardise the data analysis pipeline
  • Develop, test and maintain quality automation scripts and tools
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, building, testing and delivering high-quality solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems
  • Write clean and reusable code that can be easily maintained and scaled

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related field – or equivalent training and experience
  • Proven ability to develop computer vision applications using Python, C++, and relevant frameworks such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch (2-4 years of experience)
  • Well-versed with git applications
  • Demonstrated experience in automation
  • Good understanding of machine learning, neural networks, and image-processing techniques
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Interest and exposure to conservation, open to learning
