In 2018, The Habitats Trust received over 300 applications though our online portal from across the country. All applications were screened by specialists in the field and our external auditors, post which 15 applicants were shortlisted for Field-level Verification. The Habitats Trust team visited the 15 proposed project site and the selected nine finalists – three in each category, to move forward to the Jury Round.

On 20 December 2018, the nine finalists presented their proposals to our eminent jury comprising of Dr. MK Ranjitsinh, Mr. Brian Heath, Ms. Bahar Dutt and Ms. Roshni Nadar Malhotra, and the jury selected the first ever recipients of The Habitats Trust Grants.
